I work privately with equestrian athletes looking to build a consistent stretch and movement practice to support their riding. Sessions are individually focused to your specific needs and challenges combining a variety of modalities to support deep transformation. My work is rooted in traditional hatha, vinyasa, and astanga yoga combined with principles of resistance stretching, traditional Chinese meridian theory, Ayurveda, and functional movement. Through guided strength exercises and stretching, you will experience deep tissue release, better mind-body connection, and nervous system awareness. You can expect to feel like you've had a workout and a massage all in one. The benefits of a regular practice include improved mobility, increased strength, more energy, better recovery, increased mindfulness, reduced stagnation, and injury prevention. Sessions are held in-person at your private space when possible or virtually on Zoom.
Assisted stretch sessions are a special treat, amplifying the effects of resistance stretching. Feel completely held while you remodel your tissues at a deep level. I will lead you through hands-on eccentric contractions with guided amounts of resistance to facilitate deep remodeling of scar tissue, stagnation, and dense myofascial tissue. These sessions are a powerful tool to unwind the accumulated tension many riders experience from years of saddle time. Expect to see huge gains in comfort, freedom of moment, and overall wellbeing.
